The plot holders on my site are a friendly bunch but devided on the use of use cow manure. Some won't use any saying it is full of antibiotics and steroids. Others use loads of it as we get a free supply. I am new to the site and wonder what to do. Any advice or comments. Tim I always look for you posts.
The arguments against the cow manure you talk about could be repeated with any animal manure that comes from a farm that uses the steroids etc you mention, as well as horse manure etc.
You just have to make your decision on whether the idea of giant battling sprouts with big muscles (the sprouts of wrath..)taking on mutant ninja PSB gives you cause for concern..
Do the cows behave oddly? If not, then my view would be to spread it on and be damned by Planet Organic.. but there again, I have been taking steroids for 10 years and the side effects only started to come out after 7/8 years..(transplantee). Dunno what I would do without 'em...

I have been using it for thirty years or more and I am still here to tell the tale.
Just ask them about the acid rain that falls from the skies, the pollution that is in the air from vehicles, the chlorine and fluoride that's in the water.
Not forgetting the milk we drink!!
I am not a complacent person by nature, and I am safety conscious but these PC people are just getting on my bl**dy nerves with all the bull s**t they preach (pardon the pun)
I would say go for it but the choice is yours!
As TG says you could find a fault with everything in life with what we eat and drink if we listened to all these PC ers we would starve to death, go for it. ;D ;D ;D
Thankgoodness for your replies. Before I heard about the controvesy I had ordered some manure and I have built a mini coral with pallets to hold it.

Now watching a 5 hour transplant op is a very very strange way to spend an afternoon... Must have been raining in Brum that day....and you don't come across as that old!
Did they let you use any of the implements?
Surely the compounds would rot down or change somehow when they are digested.
Watch out for supersized woodlice though. ;D
When I was a little boy, my dad used to take us up to the cow fields to collect
cow poo in a fertiliser bag on the back of a shopping cart.
My sister and I used to throw sloes into the cow pats to see who could get the deepest.
The fresh ones worked best. :D
