at last, cracked it
Wow manic you and Ray have been busy, all nicely tucked up for the cold.
I have lost my get up and go to get up there and do something.
You have dont great!
forgot the poly ;D
thing is, cam..I'd rather be getting it ready to plant in ;D
you've got a good few months to sort it, I get stiffer as it gets colder :( ;D
Nice one. What do you use the blue plastic bins for?
I guess the blue barrels are for rain water :)
Thanks i know that it will get harder, i am struggeling to get much done as theres no more soil. Hubbie is going to come with me saturday to get some soil which will let me do the rest of the back garden which I also need to do. And then i am going to move more wood chips to reinstate my paths.
The raised beds i cant dig over because of the lack of soil i am going turn the soil add horse manure and cover with cardboard and leave till more soil turns up or i can collect more soil.
Its just so depressing being up there at the moment as most of the allotment holders have finished for the year so i feel a little exposed as i cant see anyone comming into the site where i am. Going to try and get a friend to come up and help one day next week even if they just sit there and keep me company it would help.

good idea it always helps to have some company, even if they do nowt..we're all still ploughing through the 60 tons of well rotted muck so there's no shortage there..even if you have to wait 'til spring, there's no hurry..just take care not to strain anything, m
Fantastic job manics, looks good for the winter now.
Cam, I know how you feel, though there's still some activity at our lottie site, they have all their lotties dug over and looking in fine fettle, we are covering ours with black plastic and most likely planting through that next year.
After the first season we shall remove it and hopefully most of the weeds should have been killed off.
Someone very kindly strimmed our plot the other day, its looks a little less daunting....till you get up close ::)
We dont know the guy who did it, we did meet him as he passed and thanked him. :) :D
Yes but just think Star, by this time next year yours will be well on the way to be looking as good as Manics.
yes, the blue barrels are for water, linked together with 1" pipe, we have the same amount on the other side, this is the communal shed so the water's for everyone
if you can get hold of thick cardboard for some of it, star, put it down before your plastic, it helps to stifle the weeds as well..we did that for lots of this land and it was waterlogged, stunk of sour water and was infested with mares tail and bind weed :o ;D
Mine won't be getting prepared for winter for a month. Working away from this weekend so I will also be offline for the duration. Can't see OH doing it for me. Its not her thing. She just eats the final results...
This is a bit of ours - tucked up!
It was raining today, quite heavy at times. Temp only got to 7 degrees in the middle of the say so i made a mug of tea got a book and went back to bed :) Looks like the chances to get up to the allotment are starting to run out this side of the year :(
