Strange topic heading I know but it does have a bearing on the content of the thread.(and it made you look!)
Many years ago we got together with friends,the alcohol flowed & the weed got smoked!The general conversation died down a bit when one of our friends(Dawn) looked at her thumb & said,"There's a lot of things you can't do without a thumb".Which of course, started the next discussion & oddly enough there are quite a few things you can't do without one!
Anyway the following weekend,MBW & I were at a car boot sale & spotted two little ceramic ornaments,one with the inscription "Thumb Do" & the other with the inscription "Thumb Don't".We kept the "Thumb Don't" & sent "Thumb Do" to Dawn in Devon.Her & her husband have moved a few times since then & "Thumb Do" has been lost in between. Here is a picture of "Thumb Don't"

So,if anyone has "Thumb Do" or even both & are willing to sell please let me know.The height is about 2¼ inches with a diameter of about 1½ inches.
Oh by the way,there are no marks on the base.
Nice story. Not to bring down the mood, but I heard a woman on the radio yesterday who had no thumbs as a result of thalidomide and her list of things she found difficult or impossible was a long one! She had still made it to the top in her career, though.
a friend of my son used to discuss the things you could do with buttons when he was under the influence, it got so's they'd deliberately get him drunk to see what he said next ;D
