I've got green algae on my Upvc frame. Whats the best thing to get rid of it ?
I take it that from the overwhelming response that :-
a) people don't get green algae on their doors/windows, or
b) people don't care if they get green algae, or
c) there's nothing to shift it, or
d) people just get new doors/windows, or
e) its all very hush, hush and no one wants to tell !
could try soapy water or get some upvc solvent /cleaner

Usually it is only lazy buggers that get that, ;D not many of them on this forum.
we get it on the greenhouse so we use vinegar, warm water and a bit of washing up liqid, ray swears by it ;D
right lazy buggers, us ;D
Tried some upvc solvent /cleaner from Betterware (or the like). Didn't remove it for long.
Soap and water don't work at all.
I'll give the vinegar a go, and could also get a helping of chips to go with it, for all my hard work :)
Try bleach. The peroxide type breaks down to water and oxygen, so it's not persistent.
I use the green algae remover that you put in fish ponds. Dilute it in water and then wash affected areas. It doesn`t kill any of your plants as its safe to use and the results last quite a while. Hope that helps.
