Is that wild garlic?
Yes it is, and very nice as well. ;D
It does spread, so you would need to control it ;)

I think I pm'd everyone who wants seed, if I have left anyone out please yell at me. I never remember to tick the box to save my outgoing pm's ::)
Thanks for the congrats too btw. The lady is fantastic.....what is her title ???....anyway I said I might not get down till next week and was worried she may let it go to someone else.
She said not to worry and it was mine until such time I didnt want it, even without meeting me! How nice is that? Now she really is the star ;D ;D
I am so thrilled and happy, happy, happy ;D ;D ;D............................(weirdo! 8) )
Congrats Star..enjoy it
These Ransomes, are they used like normal garlic or is it grown for the look/smell?
cheers
I think most people grow it as an ornamental, which it certainly is if you can give it space in a shady spot. But it's perfectly usable.
Thanks rutters, I will enjoy ;D
Yes it is meant to be a woodland plant, but its all over my new plot which is in full sun :) Its going to be fun controlling it :-\
As R_B says it is usable though I havent tried it yet, but I certainly will now ;)
Thanks for the info.
Do you have any seeds left?
PM me your address and I shall send you some ;)
I've pm'd you my address as well. Hope youve got plenty of seed left.
I've never used the bulb, but the leaves, which i've used when camping, will give a mild garlic flavour.
We actually bought , earlier this year, a jar of dried wild garlic, which looked like it was the leaves chopped up like any other herb. A beautiful rich dark green colour, and as has been said, a mild garlic taste. Useful when you just want a hint of garlic, not too overpowering.
Thats interesting quizzical, I have never seen any on sale dried or otherwise.
It might well be worth a try :D
I think we got it from Aldi in St James star. One of their odd lines they get in from time to time?
Ramsons seeds are now in the post guys......they have gone 2nd class Im afraid. Please let me know when you receive them, I hope they dont take too long ;)
Ramsons seeds arrived 12.30 today thank you star.
Don't forget to let me know if there's anything you need.
Gosh that was quick for 2nd class, thanks for letting me know you got them ;)
Got mine today, too-just shows it's not worth paying extra for 1st class. Thanks ever so, Star. ;D
Got mine yseterday. Many Thanks
Yay.......three arrived safely so far. Your right Caroline, sometimes 1st class takes 3 days ;)
Hi Star
Thank you for the seeds they arrived today
little-weed
Mine arrived this morning..thanks very much indeed. ;D
My sister cooked what she called "pigeons' bosoms" wrapped up in ransom leaves. Unfortunately I cannot report on the result, as I was too ill to eat them. But I thought it was a good idea.
5 arrived home.......excellent so far ;D ;D
Thats a shame artichoke, you'll have to ask yer sis to make it again and let us know how they turned out.
Actually when you said pigeons bosoms, it reminded me of when my 6 yr old grandaughter asked if chickens had nipples. :o ;D ;D
got my seeds today - not had a chance to look at them yet - thanks once again - give me a shout if your looking for or needing anything
Thanks for letting me know guys......hope they grow well for you all.
I hope other seeds havent gone astray, if anyone does not receive them please let me know so we can sort something out ;)
Another lot arrived today :D......It was brought to my attention that I didnt put sowing instructions with the seed.
Im guessing that sowing soon would emulate the natural spread......though a spring sowing would work too. I doubt that mollycoddling isnt what it needs, so leave out in the elements of winter or whenever you sow them.
Once you've got it, beware of being taken over :-\!! I dont even know if its perennial or biennial yet, its my first experience of Ramsons too.
Good luck everyone....hope they do well......but not tooooo well for you ;)
Sue - thanks for the seeds - they arrived today. Will pop half of them into the greenhouse in a pot today and save the rest for the Spring.

??? ??? :o......You only just got them??? Blimey they took thier time, at least you got them though :D
Hi have you any wild garlic seeds left?? id love some if you have some still, let me know, cheers sarah.
Star, if you have any left I would love some too if it won't leave you short but not a problem if you are running low now, it seems you have been so generous with them, I have lots of swappsies if you can spare a few, XX Jeannine
Hello Star
Yeah I only got them when I posted thanks to you - I had actually forgotten I had asked for them and had to look up the name before the penny dropped. Maybe it was the christmas rush of christmas cards etc that made them late. I had already printed out a sheet on their care and filed it in my pending folder.
I have not yet planted them - will wait another couple of week I think.
