At least you got one. Mine didn't even get as far as baby fruit.

Too much water!? Well that's all right then I thought it was a horrible disease. I got four butternuts this year and three were like the photo.

I had about ten (from 3 plants) and only one had a split.
I was lucky then.  :D
I would have had more, but frost killed off the plants.
