Is it worthy sowing my Aquadulce broad beans now for an early crop next year, or should I just wait until spring? I have loads of room where the spuds were, and I did not managed to get many brassicas in this year, just 2 rows, and 2 rows of leeks too.

Doh....I planted some up in toilet rolls a couple of weeks ago, they are just coming through.
I gather they can get leggy if planted too soon, so if I pinch them out later will they branch and produce more beans?

I wouldn't - get them in. If possible, stick them in pots and germinate them under glass but they should be OK germinating outside too.

Aquadulce never do very well for me with spring sowing. I'd put them in now

I've always put in Aquadulce around now. Half mine are in, and I'm pre-germinating the rest for putting in today. If they get cut back by frost, they bound up again in the spring, multi-stemmed, I suppose because they have good root systems.
there are not many hard and fast rules in gardening, most of it is opinion based on experience
sowing BB's in autumn - best done in modules and then planted out as the mice love the seeds but other animals can eat the crop over winter when they get hungry - if the weather is really bad the crop can end up looking miserable and you harvest not much sooner than a spring sown one - if they survive the winter that is
it also depends on your location as the better the climate the better and easier it will be
you can but try, that is how we learn - it pays to be quizzical ;D
I planted a 40' x 6' block of broad beans out last week.
Admitedly it is usually mild where I live, but we have found that they don't get blackfly and we get a much better crop from autumn-sown. I don't bother with a spring sowing now.
That's a massive bed; however many do you eat? Now I've got the garlic in, I'll probably follow up with beans, but my family aren't keen, unfortunately, so I won't be putting many in.
Well we supplied half the family with BBs this year and still froze 32lbs of them ;D
