Title: manure
Post by: Maidenheadtaff on October 23, 2007, 21:36:09
i,ve prepared a portion of my allotment and then put down a load of manure that the local farm supply to our allotment site.
I've noticed everyone that uses the manure doesn't did it into the ground but leaves it on top.Is this right ?
Does having the manure on the surface make any difference to planting my winter veg this week ?

Leave the worms to take down the manure into the soil

if the manure is nicely rotted then just dig it in where you are going to sow/plant and it should be fine.

But if it's not- don't plant straight into it as it could burn the plants!
