Title: Fraudulent mail scam (not email spam)
Post by: dtw on October 23, 2007, 12:30:25
I received a recorded delivery letter today informing me that I had won £3750 in an internet prize draw.
It was on headed paper from a holiday company.
They also omitted the town and county from my address and put 'South East'.

This must be the new way scammers are targeting people now that spam is less likely to be received.

A less savvy person would have rung the freephone number in the letter and given their bank details to 'transfer the money', but the money would have gone the other way.

SO WATCH OUT, WATCH OUT, THERE'S A SCAMMER ABOUT.
