I have a strange request ....
We are collecting corks for a little project we are working on, and have been for a few years, but we now have a problem, it is getting harder to buy wine with 'proper' corks!
So much wine today comes with either plastic corks or screw caps, it is becoming difficult to collect the last corks we need.
So ....
If anyone has any corks going spare, or doesn't mind keeping hold of any they use to send on to me, I would be very grateful.
Let me know and I'll sort out any postage costs.

if you can get to a morrison's , dan, they sell packs of 48 corks, we use them as cane toppers ;D
Ahh, but that would be the easy option!
We want the distressed look, and a variety of corks for visual effect ....

Have you tried your local freecycle group yet?
We haven't, our local group is quite strict, Karen has had quite a lot of trouble even offering things up on it! We have asked local bars and restaurants, but they tend to be so busy, they forget to save them.
I thought I'd try A4A (I know what a fantastic community we have here, am I creaping enough?)

A friend of mine made mirror frame out of old corks - looked really good. I suspect the corks were mostly from their own wastage though...
I think we've got around 150, and I think we need the same number again!
I have absolutely hundreds of corks - been keeping them for donks knowing full well someone would ask for them eventually :D
I was expecting the Scouts to come round asking for stuff to build a raft with, but no doubt they do other stuff nowadays ::)

Ha! Funny you should ask, BW was bemoaning tonight that 'people' keep on putting the corks in the drawer. Pm me where to send them and I will. What a good excuse to keep on drinking ;D

We gave up saving them after the friend we had been saving them for said she didn't want anymore. Am happy to start collecting again and send them to you, do you have a deadline or is it an ongoing request.
