Title: Spice Rack
Post by: cambourne7 on October 21, 2007, 15:20:33
Hi Guys,

I need some advice.

I need spice rack that i have put on a worktop (not mounted) that will hold approx 40 little bottles of herbs. I need something that is not going to break the bank. Has anyone seen anything??

The only thing i have found so far is in john lewis.

Do you not have a cupboard door?

There are 40 there.

We got a plastic spice shelf to screw onto the inside of a cupboard door. We keep all our herbs and spices there, there are three shelves and it didn't cost a lot, either from B&Q or MFI.  Mind you, I got this many years ago, perhaps they don't do them anymore.

Hi

Cant use the inside of the doors unfortunatly as hubbie does not like the idea but mostly because the doors are quite thin and would probably fall off.

Checked argos and did not see one that would do the job would need 2 Revolving racks and they look like they would take up a lot of space.

Ikea do a really nice wheel thats freestanding, it doesnt hold 40, but maybe 2 might be an option. I have no idea of price Im afraid Cam.

It's got 4 screw holes so I don't see why not.

It's only about 15" wide so wasn't sure whether it would hold quite as many spice jars as you would like.

If you have wall space -

We have an Ikea grundtal shelf (1st link) for pots and pans and then two of the spice racks (2nd link) joined together, hanging from the bar nearest the wall and also secured to the wall where they join together. Depending on the size of the jars you can get between 6 qnd 12 on each shelf.

They also do what are in effect towel rails in the same range if you cant fit in the shelf
