Today our local lidl was selling off seeds at 15p a packet. They didn't have the full stock left but I bought:
*little gem
*french breakfast radish
*fine curled cress
*lisbon spring onion
*perpetual spinach
*boltardy - beetroot
*autumn king - carrot
are these lidl seeds any good. ? I heard a report from which i thik saying the majority of seeds are of poor quality so you are better off spending more money on something descent.
I've had good results from Lidl seeds this year, at 15p per packet it's worth a go!
I used Lidl seed this year, I thought they were good.
100% success, I grew 2 types French beans, pumpkin, tomatoes, lettuce, radish.
Say no more. ;D ;D ;D
I'm thinking that with the major seed companies you are perhaps paying for the name? ::)
I agree Lauren - the big co's must have marketing budgets to pay for etc ::)
We bought various seeds from Lidl earlier this year and I must admit i didn't hold out a lot of hope, but at approx 35p ish per packet they were excellent. Will defo buy again ;D
I had excellent results with the spinach and yellow french beans seeds I bought last year from lidl. All these seeds are well in date (for between 1-3 years). I think at 15p it is bargin, even if the germinate was not great you are still likely to be saving!
we got a very good germination from our parsnip seed from lidl, better than the twice the price from t&m :)
I fully recomend the yellow french bean seeds. I had that many this year struggled to keep up picking them and gave a load away. Also lidl sell some varietys I have not seen anywhere else .
hiya, jockomorrocco, nice to meet you, by the 'eck, that's a long name ;D
I think I'm going to try Lidl's parsnip seed. I bought 4 packets from T&M and not one germinated :'(
The Ostergruss Rosa radish I first bought there bout 4-5 yrs ago now on my Must Buy list. 8)
