Oh fab Tee Gee!!
As Saddad says.....I hope I have your success too.
Will be interesting to see the diff between plants grown by experts and novice ;)
From how many plants, TeeGee?
QuoteFrom how many plants, TeeGee?
Twenty eight as I recall.
Generally I get 4-5 Large peppers per plant plus a few immature ones.
Incidentally that wasn't all I have had off them, I have been eating green ones for over a month now plus the odd yellow one.
The red ones always seem to be that bit later.
As I mentioned in a previous thread the extra large pointed variety is new venture to me. I tend to go for the blocky ones as these are easier to stuff & store.
The new ones will be sliced and frozen for stir fries etc.
This is one veg I am self efficient in i.e. I am still eating last years crop.
As I write my wife is busy stuffing those one in the picture.
Wow TG that's impressive :o
I particularly like the curly one on the bottom left of the pic
;D
28 plants- that makes me feel a bit better, but I've had very few from my 5 or 6 plants. :'(
what a fabulous harvest. I was wondering what to do with mine (which are all still green, have given up hope of them going red) - do they need blanching before freezing ?
A great harvest TG! thanks soooo much for the seeds which arrived today, you are a star! :-* looking forward to seeing how they will do in Spain!

Just left it in the picture to show I am still picking calabrese.
This is the third one I have picked from a late variety I grow.
Quotedo they need blanching before freezing
I see this as an either /or question.
To explain if we are chopping up misshapes for stir fries & stews etc we don't blanch them. I have read somewhere if you eat them within six months of freezing them there is no build up of enzymes.
With the good shaped ones we stuff them with various 'stuffings', cook them then allow them to cool before putting in the freezer.
These last in excess of a year as I have already indicated.
