a guy at work went on holiday recently.  Forgot he had his mobile phone in his pocket and went swimming !  eeek.  3 days later phone started to work again.  Its surprising how resilient modern electronic equpiment is.

I've been told (and believe it!) that the worst thing you can spill into electronic bits is cocacola.  Water is not too much of a problem, though, MC55, I'm surprised that the phone worked after swimming - in the sea??  salt water??

Ohhhh how the teenagers hath complained, still, being experienced at the game, i now know that a couple of days in the airing cupboard resumes normal service  ;)

i did exactly the same thing with my new fuji too Tim (s6500fd). it was in a well made case and it chucked it down with rain in the night when we were camping back in the summer. the bag was soaked and i was mortified! After hanging in a warm room for a day it was fine and no ill effects. thank goodness. ;D

Hope my son doesn't read this!!! Yesterday I just got in the shower and the phone rang. So I thought I would dial 1471 to see who rang, before I could do that the phone rang again. Son John "Where were you 10 mins ago?" after explaining he asked if in future I could please take the phone in to the shower in case he needed me!!!!! ::)

Last winter I managed to drop my mobile in a snowdrift.  It sat there for a couple of days, me not spotting it until the snow melted.  Worked fine!!

If you do get any gadgets wet, take out the batteries immediately.
