Title: capillary matting
Post by: manicscousers on October 15, 2007, 20:15:53
I know it's not basics but can't decide where to put it
we're considering getting some to use for the plant sale seedlings, save someone having to go every day..normally me..anyone used it and is it worth it, I thought it may stop some of the damping off  ???

My sister uses it for her fern collection, which consists of, I think, between 35 and 40 different ferns at the mo... Her & her husband no longer argue every few days about who's fault it was for forgetting to water them. I think it's ideal for "little & often" plants. I don't know much else about it apart from that, according to my dad, I "should get some" for my outdoor pots.

thanks, ollie..we're gtting a 42x15 poly, bench up the middle, 30 feet long x4 feet wide
I'm wondering how many 'reservoirs ' of water we'll need, may just have to try it and see what happens..just like everything in gardening  ;D
