Title: Use for Plastic straps from packaging?
Post by: Kea on October 07, 2007, 13:20:09
Does anyone have an imaginative uses for the plastic straps you get around some packages....other than making baskets! i've collected a whole lot thinking there must be something i can use them for on my allotment rather than just adding to landfill. Any ideas anyone?

Bird scarers, polytunnel roof support, plant labels, pole ties?

iron the creases out with an old flatiron or leave laid out flat in the sun for a while and they are ideal for making walk through curtains.

All good ideas. The bird scarer is looking more appealing today than it has previously due to the arrival of two pheasants on my plot though I'm not sure what they're going to eat yet.
