the biggest item is a 42x14 ' polytunnel so's everyone can have a share, also, one area is to be raised beds, for our less able mates, I think it's going to be a toss up who is going to be knackered enough first..there are 400 flags to be laid and fencing around it to be done, after the ground has been skimmed and levelled  :o
mind you, we will be getting people in to do most of it  ;D

hiya, northener, we applied to wigan council, they put us on to Douglas Valley grants..this is our third one,
we had one from the lottery fund, awards for all
we had one from somewhere else, I can look tomorrow when I go there, if you'd like..
depending where you're based, get on to the allotment officer at the council, they may be able to help..I'll look in my notes tomorrow and let you know the web sites we went on  ;D

Well done Manics - you can do a lot with that sort of amount. I'd love a polytunnel but it would look a bit odd in my 25 ft garden. And they're banned from the allotment. Have fun!

Hi Northerner,

our association 'won' a grant from the National Lottery Awards for All fund, although I'm not sure if they still do these...  can't hurt to have a look.

Also, the James Knott foundation has funded a 'schools allotment' on one of our sites and this has helped to pay for new fencing and the set up costs of this.  We raise money amongst the comittee members to cover the cost of mini tools and seeds etc to help them along.  ;D

as already mentioned, speak with your local council as they may have a grants officer who can point you in the right direction.

Manics - lots of piccies please!!  ;D
