I can't let the day pass without publishing this tribute to Ned Sherrin whom I heard this morning had died of cancer....many of you radio4 listeners may have been concerned, like me, as his voice on Loose Ends became increasingly more hoarse....for those of you who didn't know his radio broadcasts, his obit in the Independent today shows the greater scope of his talents.

I'll miss him :'(
A very sad day Alishka.
TW3 was like a breath of fresh comedy air.
As you say he will be sorely missed.

Great tribute prog on r4 tonight at 6.30, sure it will be on "listen again" so go and check him out!
I will miss him enormously.
I heard the programme Katy....loved the anecdote that when, v. weak, he said to his visitor...."Champagne! It's in the fridge...a large one for you and a small one for me!.." When the champagne was brought he looked at his glass...."I said a small one, but not that f****** small!!!"
Got style, that man 8)
