Surely, with fuel oil at an all time high, it was inevitable?

And then we barge into the oil producing countries & expect them to keep supplying us?

Agree Tim......... but this 2p is a result of Mr Browns last Budget

It's set out to be 2p this year, 2p next year and 1.?p the year after.

I work for an oil distribution company and we were on tenter hooks to see if he would cancel with an early election in mind but no such luck :(

A quote from another forum:
Quote
I'll maybe believe that petrol is getting expensive when I see the following:

a) a much larger number of smaller cars,
b) people turning their engines off in traffic jams
c) more than 1 bike in the work bike shed
d) people at work walking the 500m to buy lunch instead of driving

The price of fuel has gone up repeatedly over the past few years but I have yet to see it actually become "expensive" enough to prompt anyone to make even the simplest allowance for it.

Yet again the news is all shock headlines about massive fuel price increases, and yet again they ignore the fact that the real (monetary) cost of motoring has consistently fallen over many years.  Unlike the costs of public transport.

Just another case of "Daily Mail gone mad".

And now that the arch denier George Bush has finally had to accept the truth that humans are accelerating climate change and it is not just natural warming, are the rest of you deniers going to extract your heads and accept that something needs to be done or not.  Motoring is still a hell of a lot cheaper than it used to be - and should be.

Tesco & Morrisons are not applying the 2pence till friday at some point so you still have time to fill up.

I just put £30 in the car which will last me most of the month.
