Title: Par-cel (Zwolse Krul)
Post by: Georgie on September 29, 2007, 18:22:24
As it says on the packet, it looks like parsley and tastes like celery.  I've had great success with it this year and want to grow it again next year.  I know it's a herb but can anyone tell me if it is an annual, biennial or perennial please?

It's a biennial. Apium graveolens.
(Had to look it up though  ;D)

apium grav is actually celery - par-cel is just a type where you eat the tops as you probably would a herb rather than the stems/roots etc in celery - but yes a biennial but often grown as an annual as it can get a bit ragged through the winter
