Would anyone like a few to grow on next year?

PS:  A lovely lady swapped some with me last year - sorry I can't remember who she was  :-[  but it seems only fair to pass a few more on this year to anyone who would like some!

I would like to try some, never thought about Artichokes until I saw them on the Grow Your Own programme.

I will send you some Melon “Charentais” seeds to try if you would like some.

If you are after Jerusalems I would have thought it was way too early to be digging them up. I expect to have loads availabe from December onwards if this current offer expires.

As for globe artichokes, I could find a few cuttings if anyone wants some.

Oh they're ready alright!!  They seem to have grown like weeds!!!  Besides - I never dug them up - they were blown over in a gale and dug themselves up!!  LOL

I have never tried Artichokes so would love to give them a go if you have any left. What is the difference between Jeruselem and globe?

Jerusalem artichokes are a tuber or some such thing, a bit like a potato. The flavour reminds you a bit of artichoke. The top of the plant is a big leggy sunflower plant but with small flowers.

artichokes proper are massive thistles, and you eat them before the flower blooms.

God that makes them both sound really weird.
