Earlier this year I asked for some help with designing a garden for a community project I was involved in with work. Well last week it finally became a reality, my colleagues and I transformed a patch of dirt into a lovely garden for the guests of a respite home to enjoy.
I'm really pleased with the results and looking forward to seeing it next year when the plants have filled out a little more.
I thought you guys might like to see the before and after photos

Well done, Sweetpea and friends- that will make a lovely sight for the residents.
As Caroline has said Well Done. I am sure your efforts will be appreciated.

Fantastic! It's amazing what a little bit of hard work and a lot of dedication can do.
Fancy helping me out on the lottie? ;D
What a super job you've all made of it - well done sweet pea ;D
I remember the 'before' photos you posted, sweet-pea. Great job!
Go on, then - what did you plant?
OK, here goes, and apologies for spelling and I may get some names slightly wrong!
The small bed at the back (you can't see it that well in the photo) has a bird bath at the front surrounded with some Alchemila mollis and Anemone Huphensis 'September charm' round it's base, and some tulips also for spring. Behind it are a Choysia ternata 'Sundance' and a Berberis 'Roseglow', and behind them a yellow flowering Buddlejha.
The big bed has :
Cotinus 'Grace'
Euonymus fortunei 'Emerald 'n' Gold'
Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote'
Santolina chamaecypanissus
Stipa gigantea
Stipa tenuissima
Crocosmia
Sedum spectabile
Acanthus spinosus
Kniphofia rooperi
Alchemilla Mollis
Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens'
Potentilla 'Gibson't Scarlet'
Allium hollandicum 'Purple sensation'
Snowdrops
Tulip 'Queen of the night'
I think thats about it.
Nice choices, sweet-pea. Don't forget, if there's anything you might still need, do please give us a shout.
;D
looks great :)
Well done you!
;D
Thanks everyone :-) Must admit I did have problems with choices of plants as they needed to be as rabbit proof as possible, fingers crossed they will survive the little blighters.
It looks lovely, well done ~ would love to see some photos taken next summer
