I'm not one to miss a bargain or two, so i thought i'd share today's bargains with you all, so hopefully you can share too!! I was wondering round Focus today, and found Buddleja Davidii (Border Beauty ) i think they were in 5 ltr pots from £14.99 to 99p, so i got 3 for the lottie, ( for the insects and what have you ) and also one of the workers told me about Helenium- Pipsqueak reduced from £5.99 each to 99p, so i got 8 of them to make a nice border on the lottie. Maybe you have a branch nearby that are reducing plants that have finished flowering, a cheap way to buy, me thinks!!
Going to have a look tomorrow. Was handy when daughter worked at local branch I got to hear of real bargains :)
The only cautionary point I would make, is that once your Buddleas have finished flowering, dead head them. Otherwise you will have seedlings all over your lottie.
They are beautiful plants/flowers, and attract many beneficial insects. But left to their own devices can become very invasive. You only have to take a train journey to see how invasive they are. All alongside the tracks, in the guttering of buildings nearby.
I certainly wouldn't be without my plants, but you do need to keep an eye on them.

Hi Valmarg, I'll take notice of your advice, it say's on the label that it's a dwarf variety 1.5mtr, due you reckon it would still be a good idea to plant in a tub then? I did buy three? :)
Ouch! Paid a fiver each for two Heleniums at Harlow Carr today. Used vouchers from my birthday though, and we don't have a Focus near here, so not so bad I suppose. :-\

I assumed you were going to plant them out on the allotment, and would not say not to. All I meant was that they do seed down, so it's easier to dead head them.

Point taken Valmarg, i'll see how they get on. :)
