Yesterday, we bought a world cup rugby t-shirt for small person. Today he wore it at the beach while building sandcastles and needless to say - it needs a wash!

Gift voucher for seed catalogue  ;D

Debster last year I did VERY unusual and everyone got an "Oxfam" gift!
My Mum's gift was to give seeds for an allotment, my sisters gave goats, and neices n Nephew gave mosquito nets! ;D (all on their behalf from us)
Thats the last time they all moan they don't know what they want cos they don't really need anything.....lucky them! ;D

Hi Debster,

Depends on what part of the country they live and their ages.

I too have the problem of buying unusual/different christmas presents.

Last year I bought 3 friends a trip on the Duck Tour, that was a great success.  The year before I booked them Ice Skating at Hampton Court, that was really good and of course I go too, just to make sure they enjoy themselves ;D  Those two things would be within your budget.

There are loads of unusual pressies on the web, this summer I booked a trip on a RIB but that was a bit costly but it was for a special birthday present.

In the past I have made personal pressie's like embrodiery on table napkin's, jars of preserves with fancy labels, done on the computer with their names on or the preserve named after them or you could always take up knitting and knit them all a jumper :)

Didn't Victor Meldrew get a grave stone - that would be fairly unusual and definitly usefull one day.
How about a bunji jump, a pet spider or an aligator.

When I was really broke one year, I gave my friends some 'time or services' vouchers. I made a voucher on the computer for hours of my time that they could redeem the next year (off duty permitting) for me to do gardening, babysitting, cooking or taking kids out for them (that was a popular one!) ;D

I did think of doing some for veg boxes vouchers as well for next year!

One of my OH's best pressies (he says) that I got him a few years ago was a really tacky alarm clock, which when set off the doors flew open showing a few subbuteo type football players (you can get different strip colours depending on their preference!) and played the 'Match of the Day' theme music to wake you up! Nearly drove me nuts but he liked it....... :-\ Don't know if a similar thing exists for Rugby!

Hawkin's are a good place to look for the unusual for all ages.....http://www.hawkin.com/

we got some 'gadgets from I want one of those website, quirky  ;D
we all do 'wish lists ' now, makes sure nobody gets anything they don't want, we usually start off with gifts from a couple of pounds up to 10.00, our limit, apart from the children
we make the lists all year and use them for birthdays as well  :)

I always like to give tickets to a play, show, concert.

A family pic framed, that always goes down well, you could choose a home pic that you like, nothing professional and stick it in a nice frame, people love those gifts.

You could bake sweets or biscuits and wrap them up really nicely.

I like to do the hotel thing too, that always welcomed, in fact ive got one of those sorted out for OH this Chrimbo.

Gift vouchers often may not seem thoughtful but are very much appreciated, i was bought a load of John Lewis vouchers last year but didnt know what to spend them on but then last night i realised  i needed something and had a fab time online spending them  :P

Vouchers for their regular hairdressers or nail salon so they can get a freebie?

I like personalised gifts too, they always are very much appreciated.
You can have almost anything personalised these days, wallets, purses, wine, spirits, crystal glasses?...seeing someones face when you have gone to that trouble always gives me a spring in my step.

Photographs that can be placed in keyrings, on mugs, coasters etc, again putting thought into a gift and planning it ahead seems to be the key!

Awwww i love buying pressies, cant you tell? ;D
