Title: Aspirin to boost immune system
Post by: Georgie on September 19, 2007, 19:54:42
A while back someone on this site suggested using a soluable aspirin spray every three weeks to boost plants immune systems.  I meant to try it but forgot all about it until I spotted the tip in my notebook today.  I just wondered if anyone else gave it a go and if so with what results?

Meant to!

But, as with all bright ideas, unless you do a controlled trial, where are you?

Hi Tim. Well I agree if you want to be scientific about it but I meant to try it on certain plants that I have troubles with.  For instance every year without fail my Sweet Peas and Pansies get powdery mildew.  If I'd used the aspirin spray this year and there was no sign of PM - that would have been good enough for me.   ;D

try making a spray solution out of mare's tail - has a natural fungicide in it so it isn't nearly half as bad as people think  ;D

QuoteThe stem is used as a twine for tying up plants etc[6, 99]. It is fairly flexible and strong but not long-lasting. A green dye is obtained from the whole plant[168].
