Title: Strawberry?
Post by: gerbera on September 11, 2007, 18:53:28
Just spotted a strange weed next to my greenhouse.....and now I have a question for you all.... ???

Is there a weed that looks a bit like a strawberry plant? Or is it a lucky strawberry seed which has survived the composting process?

The only plant that I have ever seen which looks a bit like this one....was a strawberry plant!

Clarification from the experts please??????

Simply, yes. There are several weeds that look like strawberries and I don't know their proper names. There is one that gets people excited because they think it is the wild strawberry but the fruits turn yellow not red. There is also the chincefoil stuff that hippies pay lots of dosh for. Always treat unknown plants with respect and get photos preferably showing leaves, flowers and fruit. Check the type of root too. If it has a taproot, it is not a strawberry.
