Title: Haloumi and runner beans - heaven
Post by: gwynleg on September 10, 2007, 20:54:23
Hi - just thought I would post that my favourite very quick supper is fried haloumi cheese (you dont need oil it just fries on its own) and runner beans - the saltiness of the cheese is just perfect with the beans. It even wins over the OH 'where's the meat' questions.
I havent got sick of it yet and my goodness do I have a lot of runner beans!

excellent timing gwynleg, I picked 5 1/2 pounds of runner beans on Sunday!
do you just sling it all in a frying pan?
(not so good at the cooking malarkey :-[ ::))

Hi norfolklass, you slice the haloumi and just fry it in frying pan as normal till nicely brown ( I like it quite brown cos it makes the outside nice and crispy). I steam the runner beans in the microwave - both take about the same time ( I go for about 5-6 mins as I do a lot of beans). Dead easy!
