yep our sheds were broken into down the lottie!!! wwwaaaaahhhhhh! they twisted the door blts to pull off the padlocks. But as far as I can see all they stole was... MY FORK! my best tool sniff sniff
why would you steal a bloody fork? it seems so stupid?
Wonder how much booze was stolen from my fellow allotmenteers as some of them have good stocks in their sheds... ::)
dunno how they got in, there is a 2 metre fence all round and a locked gate...
But no veg gone ha ha they must have been purely carniverous
So thankful that we grow at home.
Ruddy mungrels(is that a term of abuse in Oz speak?)-It used to piss me off(Brit speak ;D) when mindless idiots vandalised the lotties.
Like Tim I am now just a home gardener and whilst I miss the banter of the lottie scene I sure don`t miss the vandalism

mmm was told this morning that my fork may have been found in the next field!! But the chaps have locked it away for safe keeping so i suppose I will get it back on the weekend.
Some new bolts have been ordered for the shed too. Such a waste of money, all from other people's stupidness >:(
i know its not legal but carpet stays soaked in creosote rips the little b*****rs hands apart!!
My site has a publis footpath running through it. This has problems with theives. all of the plots have their sheds unlocked and some even leave the doors open. No one steals from the open ones as it gives the idea there is nothing in them worth nicking. If its locked - why is it locked - ooohhh lets look (mentality)
I have a bath next to the shed for collecting water, I hide my tools in behind the bath, they dont think to look in there
We aren't allowed sheds :'( but we have an enormous bramble bush right at the end of our plot. We put the tools in there when we're finished with them - handle first. The thugs who come round don't like the idea of pulling a fork out of the bush by the tines, or a spade by the blade etc, so leave them alone.
We also make sure they would have to bend right down and stick their heads as far in the bush as possible. That way they get all the spiders and wotnot down their necks :D
