Title: Senshyu Onion Sets
Post by: Chantenay on September 10, 2007, 09:32:11
Does anyone have experience of these please? They are autumn planting sets, and the instructions say plant at 1" deep, which seems very strange to me. I would normally have sets just poking above the soil. Are overwintering onions different???

Hi Chantenay. I planted to the tips being just below the surface last year & they were brilliant. I think I lost 2 out of about 50. It's very annoying that they never say which bit should be an inch deep!

Same here I plant them so tips just below soil level so they are almost poking through.

Thanks for that - it's always good to check these things.
