Title: Best size of Dalek ?
Post by: hoverfly on September 09, 2007, 20:16:03
I have a leaflet from www.wasteawarescotland.org.uk  offering varous sizes of bin, ie. the Ecomax 220 ( 220 litre) or Ecomax 330 ( 330 litre)
The 220 would be fine for me but someone said they don't generate enough heat.
Any recommendations ?

Bully for you if you're a heat generator - we just pile the stuff on month after month, regardless of layers of this & that. So, the bigger the better!

I agree with Tim but I only have room for 220 litre and it's fine - compost in about 6 months if you get the mixture right.   ;D

The bigger the better. Go for the 330, you won't regret it.

I have 2x 330l at the lottie. Never got on to fill the second one yet - almost 2 years on. Just when I think its full, the contents have shrunk again. Though my hens eat most of the green stuff - their waste goes in the bin.

The contents always shrink. The test is, how much space does it all taske up when you're packing it in around midsummer?
