Are you planning to show them, or just be the biggest on site?
I grew Bunton's Showstoppers from seed this year and had a great crop of big onions, all about 2-4lb in size.
There is a pic of them in my gallery...

Once won a first for 'Stutgarter'.

Deb P,
Just looked at your gallery, and was most impressed.  Your pics look like my ideal plot, a far cry from what I have at the mo.  You have given me inspiration, and I have have a hot date for Saturday at the lottie!  Congrats, how long did it take you to achieve all that? :-\

(Sorry for going off thread Steve)

I've had my plot a year, there are some progress photos month by month in Locations and sites if you want to see how I tackled it!

Well there's a clever Girl!! Bet you won't have the heart to eat them now? They'll stay on your front windowsill?

My gauntlet was to find instructions, more than bend the tops over & tie. Failed on the net, but finally got 4 pages of expertise on growing & showing, but not varieties, from:

"Andrew Tokely
Andrew has been gardening since a lad and is well known in his village of Capel St Mary where he often wins prizes in the village produce show, especially with leeks and onions.
As well as growing vegetables, Andrew grows over 3,500 bedding plants each year from a 12' x 8' and 8' x 6' greenhouse to fill his own garden with summer colour.
He combines his hobby with his career - he's the Horticultural Manager for the Ipswich-based seed company Thompson & Morgan where he has worked for over 13 years".

Here if anyone should need them!
