Title: Pinapple dilema
Post by: scotch-mist on September 03, 2007, 19:28:37
Hi all,
I bought a fresh pinapple today for the kids to try.(they loved it)
and I know there's a way to grow on the top as a house plant,
But , I don't know what to do with it and do I take all the flesh off the leaves part (I left a wee bit on in case I cut it too high.
Budding Titchmarsh is keen to grow a pinapple tree  ;D ;D ;D

Please help! ::)

Thanks

thanks very much Doris and Lauren,
I've now figured where I was going wrong ::)
I was cutting instead of twisting the tops off (and I thought they were just suicidal) :P
Tomorrow morning after the school run I will buy another pinapple and try again ;)

So far this year I have managed to murder 2 pinapple tops,
                                                                     2 blackberry bushes,
                                                                     1 bed of garlic
                                                                      1 bed of parsnips
                                                                     3 grow bags of strawberries
                                                                and 24 pots of herbs
Thank God for Tesco  ;D ;D ;D

On the bright side,    I have millions of healthy carrots  8)
