Mum sent me the link to this site. Very interesting and great if you are into making your own curries!

I shall have to study the site, but on first glance, would also be useful with Pat Chapman's Curry Bible.

Every site is worth a view. For me, I'll stick to the 'one person family businesses'. I like the personal touch.

In Gloucester we have quite a few shops that sell Indian food/spices, I popped into one the other day to buy some bits to add to my chutney making exercise and was staggered at how cheap things are! I bought a big bag of cloves for about a £1, in supermarket it would have cost a fortune!
They also had the best bulbs of garlic I have ever seen.
Chinese Garlic?
Chinese Garlic? I've never heard of that. This appeared to be normal bulbs of garlic but just big. They seem to taste the same, I was considering buying some to plant out in the next month or so.
Just that China ships in tons of Garlic & it might be cheaper than UK grown?
As to spices, we have a local Julian Graves, & I think that their prices are very competitive.
Certainly their packaging is tempting. And they're on the net.
Have you tried their Rice Cookies? The best nibble I've come across.
