Title: Tomatoes
Post by: Mrs Ava on August 29, 2007, 16:44:25
Can I bottle toms the same way I bottle fruit?  The Supersprout way.  So prepare and pack into sterile kilners, cook in a low oven for 90 minutes, top up with liquid, seal with rubber grommits?  If so, what would the additional liquid need to be - when I do fruit - pears, plums and greengages in the oven at the moment, I make a sugar syrup - would I make a light sugar syrup for the toms??

Abso-bloody-lutely perfect Tim.  Answered my question wonderfully!  It looks like I will have a nice glut of yellow cherries and I thought I would try something different.  Now all I need is a lemon.  ;D  Thanks Tim.  :-*
