Title: The longest runner bean....
Post by: ruffmeister on August 27, 2007, 20:13:51
Hi there,

This week we popped to the lottie to find our runner beans have really grown, we had 3 beans which were 16 inches long.

Click here to see our Monster Runner beans (http://lottieblogs.co.uk/aug4.aspx)

How are yours? do you have one to beat 16 inches? are yours small this year? or have all your plants diesn off without forming beans? we would like to know, pictures would also be great.

Other news this week is swedes forming, pumpkins galore, straberry runners and continuing harvests.

Regards
Lottieblogs

13 inches so far, but I haven't really looked.

In the name of competition, though, I'll take a look tomorrow.   ;)

Variety?   Mine's Enorma.

Hmmmmmmmm!  No beans yet.  Loads of green leaves lots of offshoots but no flowers and no beans.  the plants have been in since May.

beetroots are small, leeks stopped growing and i have not had a courgette.  carrots and Parsnips are growing but I am afraid to look at them.  Onions have been good and so have the dwarf french beans.  The broad beans went black very quickly, the cabbage have been eaten by the pigeons.  the toms are green but growing.

Anyway it has kept me off the streets :o)

A measly 14.5" for me... :(....but I've left the bigger ones on the plant.   ;D

Can't see them beating 20.5 though.
