Another cause for celebration this weekend: I finished sieving the compost in the oldest bin, so shifted some of the newer stuff from the other bin into it to turn it over.
About a third of the way down the new bin I discovered lovely, well rotted compost! :D It's only been in there about a month. ;D (just shows how hots it's been and Mr Aqui's liquid contribution really helps!)
It's all the stuff that a neighbour cleared out of their garden and was going to throw away when I rescued it. So I'm even more happy!
It needs sieving as there are still slightly tougher bits that haven't rotted yet, but after filling a 75l compost bag with homemade compost, play was rained off, so I shall see later in the week how much I've 'made'.
*one very happy aqui!* :D ;D
Oh Aqui how lucky you are and really well done. 8)
It must feel great to do something so useful .
;D ;D cheers Rosebud. ;D ;D
Been harvesting my 'black gold' this week too. I must have done something right cos it's grand stuff. I haven't sieved it - sorted it through and chucked any big bits back to cook for a bit longer. As I am on clay, I need as much organic matter as I can get.
