So that's it then? Feels like November outside... :'(
It looks like it too, dull overcast and drizzle - ugh!
Tricia
I know what you mean, we just had comfort food to match the weather. Sausage and mash with own veg :D
It might work to our advantage. I just sowed some more carrots - maybe the seeds will think its March ::)
trouble is in our house, we're getting lots of cucumbers and tomatoes, we don't want salads, we had stew today !!, so much for the summer diet ;D
Snap SMP I sowed three rows of carrots yesterday as well!
;D
Rain and wind all morning, dried out now though, might venture outside to sink a few ciders, just to check the weather you understand. ;D ;D ;D
If only we would have a couple of days of sunshine. All of my toms are verging on ripening but it is taking ages just to get one red one, and my strawberry plants are covered in flowers and young fruits. A spot of sun and we could get a bonus crop! We had roast chook with lottie veg for dinner instead of roast chook salad. What am I going to do with the 14 cucumbers that are sitting in my fridge?!?!??!
EJ if it's any consolation, I have not a single ripe tomato yet - and for that matter, not very many green ones either!
I've only had to put the shades on the Greenhouse on 2 days this year. Must be a record.
ditto all of the above .......... cept the carrits. may sow another row tonight.
oh but i lost a few trays of seedlings in a mini g/h oven yesterday ! forgot to open the d**n thing and i forgot about the sun !
there is no justice, but then we no that - just luck !
;D
I had thought my tomatoes were behind but came away with two carrier bags from the 8x6 last night so there may be a few in the polytunnel!!!!!

Dunno what you lot are going on about, I always thought Sumer was an ancient civilisation, not something to do with the weather.
reading the daily mail today it says that we actually had a sunnier august than we usually have!! it says because we had a bad may ,june and july we just thinkit,s bad ??? what all of us :o maybe they are talking about liquid sunshine

Did anyone else spot the irony of the eco-warriors at Heathrow, rugged up in their woolly hats and anoraks in the middle of summer, demonstrating about global warming!

Cold, wet and windy today and looks like my first two toms are nearly ripe in the garden. ;D ;D ;D
Our outdoor toms havent done any good at all but the GH ones are great. Shirley of course. Am hoping to eat an aubergine at the weekend if it's big enough. Gotta have a change from the bloomin Courgettes come marrows.Still got 7 to eat and more coming every day. lol. I just asked Tony how many there were so that I could post it on here and he said why does somebody want some pmsl

Hahaha, yes valmarg, I said the same thing to my OH when we saw them on the news ;D
I was more struck by the environmentalists' use of that supremely organic product Superglue the other day.

I must admit I have known better summers that this, but I have also known worse.
The climate changes, and has done for millions of years. I really don't think that anything I do is going to alter that one way or the other!!!
Oh, and if your are going to quote Fiends of the Earth and Greenwar, don't bother, I DO NOT BELIEVE IT!! And particularly not that failed American politician Gore!!
valmarg
PS, sorry for going a bit off thread.
