Title: Daffodil Certificates
Post by: ninnyscrops on August 17, 2007, 20:03:02
Anyone out there remember being given a daffodil bulb at school and having to grow it. Taking it in to school in the springtime and getting a certificate? This would have been at primary school, does it still happen anywhere?  :)

It didn't happen where I went to school north of Inverness. Was it regional perhaps?

Might have been - certificates were printed L.E.A. 1st, 2nd or 3rd. (This was in the '60s  :D)

I remember these, in fact I've got one somewhere and so has OH, we both grew up in London....it was a single sheet certificate with a photo of a daffodil against a black background if I remember rightly....can't recall if it was first/second/third though... ::)

Showing me age now.... ;D

That's the one Deb P ;D  Can't remember if we were given any bulb fibre or just the bulb and we dug up earth from the garden.  You were extra lucky if you produced a double too.
