Title: Some questions about seeds..
Post by: KateG on August 17, 2007, 19:50:23
My thoughts have turned to seeds. I want to grow organically as far as possible, perhaps starting out being a 'bit' organic and as I get more knowledgeable and get the plot sorted I could pick more organic ways up.

So, seeds. Should I set out to buy organic seeds? Or just run of the mill seeds from my local garden centre? Are organic seeds harder to grow?

Where is the best place (online) to buy seeds?

http://www.tamarorganics.co.uk/

This is the first company I used, lots of choice and good service!

I would just buy normal seeds to start off.
The amount of 'pestilence residue' is too small to make any difference.

I note on that website they will supply 'normal' seeds when organic isn't
available.  ::)

Saying things are organic is just an excuse to charge extra for the same thing.

Some seed are treated against rot, so"normal" seed are a safer bet for beginners..

I'd recommend you start out buying regular seeds. Then later if it is important to you, you can buy organic seeds.

Many people on this forum buy regular seeds and grow them organically.
