Post by: cambourne7 on August 15, 2007, 14:38:32
Hi Guys,

I was just wondering what other than over wintering onions, carrots and parsnips what can i plant in the next month. I want to plant up some of my new raised beds, others i am covering in cardboard/manure and black plastic which i am going to use after christmas.

And what do you recomend i start to grow next month in the greenhouse (i will have it put togeher by then)

Hi Cambourne around the back end of next month I will start off the overwintering salads for the greenhouse and I`ve sent off for some ostensibly over wintering radish.

As for the raised beds?-well around mid October I`ll be setting off early broad beans(Aquadulce) and round seeded peas(Feltham First)

How big are your raised beds?

You can increase the range of produce by using my system of moveable units that create frames as you go.

Even using fleece frames increases temperature, protects from pests and wind, and eliminates soil splash. Late salad crops are a doddle and will last through Christmas.
