Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I am going to have my 2nd Dinner on Fri. Night and on Sunday the family are taking me out for Sunday Lunch.

Best bit of reaching 60 is getting the bus pass - will you get yours on Saturday or have to wait until Monday? You'll be in and out to Auld Reekie all the time and John Lewis won't know what has hit it!! ;) :D

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I have not received my Bus Pass yet despite sending for it 2 weeks ago. Do you know there is a great set up in Scotland, in that we can travel anywhere within Scotland FREE yes FREE with a Bus pass. Unless someone tells me the restrictions. Had a good day thanks, had yet another dinner out (back to porridge tomorrow).
Hey Shirley, I tried/did the concession trick end of July to gain entrance to the Border Union Show. The Man on the gate said ' You are not concession' I was quite pleased and handed over the concession price, but, he didn't argue with me, hmmm.

Hi Carol

It took nearly four weeks for my friend's pass to arrived. I previously had a local council pass so it was a straight exchange. When in Edinburgh, you just jump on the bus, flash your pass, (glad I can spell ;D) and they don't ask where you are travelling to, so if you get on a bus travelling in the wrong direction, no problem, just get off, no questions asked.
