I have grown it for the first time this year. It is much larger than anticipated and is overtowering other crop by loads. Next time mine will be getting more space between each other.

Got 3-4 spears on at present. Do you cook the leaves off with the spears in the same way you do cabbage, or are they for the compost bin?

Personal taste, I think KT. I love the little leaves and hate waste!

Does it taste like spring PSB and does picking the first few sprouts makes it send out more?

Barnie -

1. Never tried it side by side.

2. It will always send out more, surely? So pick as soon as any are ready.

Thanks Tim,

1) Sounds well worth a try of you're not conscious of a difference.

2) Just got in my mind that I read somewhere PSB will hold back sending
out shoots until you picked off the central one...

More generally for Calabrese, perhaps?
