Title: Spider !!

Please help ! today I came across a large spider it's body has yellow/black and white rings around it, it's legs and brown and cream striped and would be happy to sit on a 50p piece!

any ideas.. all I can find is the american yellow garden spider but this has white on it too.. Oh and |I live in Dover Kent,

don't know, shani..but we've got lots of wierd looking spiders ..just as long as they don't bite, we leave 'em to eat all the baddies  ;D

 :)Thanks for the reply... we have now found this little beast on the UK safari web site   http://www.uksafari.com/spiders.htm  it was a wasp spider and yes it did look like a long legged wasp!! fantastic colouring.. I let it go on someone else's plot! as we have now destroyed it's home by mowing down all the grass. Our allotment neighbours are very approving of the new look. But it was very hard work.. all we have to do now is start cultivating it...... yes we are very new and enthusiastic allotmentee-rs.

Envy you with the area that you grow.
Like the use also with allotment-eer. Not lotties yuk!

Attotmenteer - bit like a pioneer with a lot more diggin !

'lotties' makes you think along the lines of 'Potty'.if you had seen the state of the allotment before we started that fitted very well..

It's a very pretty spider though  :)
