Post by: prink13 on August 12, 2007, 15:42:12
I have just ordered one of these sets of jam/preserve kits from the US, as unable to find them over here - have now found that they do them in Lakeland!!

Told my Mum I wanted one on Thursday, ordered it Friday from US, they won't ship it to UK, so having it shipped internally, then posted over here, Mum then phoned this morning to tell me about lakeland - in the words of Victor Meldrew - "I don't believe it!!!!"

I have been using these individually for years. The jar picker upper I use for picking up red hot jars out of boiling water and it id very safe.

The smaller picker upper I use everyday in the kitcheb generally, the jar opener I don't use do often as I have better designed one.

The fitsr piece is the "can't live without it!

Order already dispatched, else I would have cancelled

I don't think that any of the items are essential, but all look very useful, esp. the jar picker-upper, as I tend to sterilise my jars in oven at 200 degrees+, and even with a tea towel, they're very hot to pick up

Looking forwadr to it's arrival, even if all the way from the USA!!! ;D

I couldn't can without the jar picker upper!!. The magnetic stick is useful for taking the boiled caps out of the sterilising water. But it is the first one that is the super one. XX Jeannine
