Title: what do you do with horsreraddish

I have been given an horseradish plant for my allotment what do i do with it and how do i prepare it when it's grown please.

Wherever you plant it it will be there forever. It is uber perenial. I don't think it needs special treatment, it grows very happily on railway embankments. When it is big and strong dig up a root. Scrub it and grate it out of doors - if you think onions make you cry wait til you try this. Mix it with cream or mayo for horseradish sauce.

If I were you I would keep it as contained as possible cos it spreads like mad

How do i keep ity contained can i contain it in a bucket  any suggestions please.

once you've prepared it and it's creamed.....serve with things like smoked fish (mackerel & eel are deelish) & wholemeal bread......not just roast beef :P
