Title: Runner Bean "Sunset"
Post by: Rhubarb Thrasher on August 06, 2007, 13:59:02
Does the Runner bean "Sunset" have anything going for it apart from the beauty of the flowers? I'm impressed with them a lot from pictures

it's terrible - i'm planning for next year, the football's started, and we haven't even had a summer yet

Cheers

I'm not impressed so far, mine is really slow and only just starting to flower, but to be fair the french beans planted at the same time are just as bad..... :-\

I grew them last year and they gave me a decent crop of stringless beans. Nothing special to recommend them but as good as most other varieties.

Are they related to Sunbright? My Sunbright have been much slower off the mark than the other varieties( Enorma, Enorma Elite and Scarlet Emperor) - I would say about 2 weeks behind.

their unique selling point is lovely pink flowers. I was thinking about making the plot more colourful next year and wondered whether the beans were any good. Thompson and Morgan do them
