Title: TRIED AND TESTED Rhubarb Cordial Recepie needed
Post by: killerflies on July 31, 2007, 09:19:27
Hi all,

An All4all search for Rhubarb Cordial yields 2 results, none of which supply a recepie.

A google search yields multiple "untried" versions.

Can anybody supply a good one for me, that they know works?

I have a bit of rhubarb and was hoping to make some cordial before the weekend when we are going to a christening. Gotta bring something............

Appreciate it!

A bit late but do have a recipe for rhubarb squash

To every 1 lb Rhubarb - 1floz water
To every 1/4pt juice -8 1/2 floz water
To every 1/2pt juice - 1/3oz citric acid

Wash and cut rhubarb into small pieces and simmer with water until all juice extracted. Sieve throuh muslin and squeeze until all the juice is out. Measure juice and add sugar as above. dissolve sugar in juice by heating to boiling point, stir all the time. Leave until cold. Dissolve 1/3oz citric acid to every 1/2 pt of juice in a little hot water and leave to get cold. When both fluids are cold mix citric acid mix in with squash. Clean bottle with with hot water soda, rinse in clean water and add squash.
