I bought a little one of these plants yesterday. According to Jekka McVicar the young leaves can be eaten in salads or the older leaves cooked like spinach. Does anyone have any experience of growing this please and any words of wisdom? I just loved the look of the leaves! ;D

Grow it in my lottie and my salad patch in the garden , cut and come again.
Blanch it and it freezes well, pick the young leaves for salad. Keep harvesting and it won't go to seed, well not as fast as other leaves I've grown, and it germinates quickly too. One of my favourates.
That is purely from my own experience, not been at it that long. Look forward to the other posts.

Blimey - it's the sequel to 'Invasion of the Cape Gooseberry'!

Thanks Cazy. Does it taste like Spinach?
I read that too, Amazin. Hence mine has been planted in in a very restrictive pot! ;D

Perhaps a little stronger, depends on which variety of spinach your used to.
I wilt mine down in a pan with a little butter. I don't add water just leave whats on the leaves after I've washed it. I add some black pepper and freshly grated nut meg. enjoy.
