I like York as well and it doesnt take long in a train for me to get there on a day trip. You could take the Train Lorna, direct line to York. where is your nearest main line station? Peterbro? easy peasy.
Yes Carol, Peterborough is the main line, can also get train from March to Peterborough so ... maybe!!
The Abbey ruins (last pic on first set) are where our wedding photos were taken, married in St Olaves... there was snow on the ground.. very romantic pics but very cold!
