Title: Pictures of things at my allotment, not garden!
Post by: Mrs Ava on June 15, 2004, 13:07:42
To please our fingle, I took the camera today and instead of snapping pretty ornamentals in my garden (some of which are edible I hasten to add) I photographed my veggies!  ;D

(http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0RgAYA5AV3g0ox1XnTRC0075WALAxRSLk7pjMaj9NVkiNUPfMj9nLuS9GJlJMosemSTDQeZMs7fCRr56756fqN39WUysYudFF8XZ1N3ZEVfs/brassica_cages.jpg?dc=4675476550132683995)  Here are some of my brassica cages, not pretty, but they do the job.  All recycled and found by my Ava.  ;D

So there you go, masses of pics, all of the allotment, all of veggies.  Tis all looking good up there, I am managing to keep on top of the weeding and have things to pick almost every visit!  ;D

WOW. I know it's a word I overuse. But WOW! Loads of hard work there. All looks most impressive!

My mouth is watering at the thought of all those yummy veggies. Can I come to dinner when you harvest your snips? Mine totally failed.  :'(

What are the frilly lettuce, Emma? And can't you just go on tearing handfuls off - rather than cut down?
We're still tearing away at the same last 2 Fristina that were sown in September. = Tim

EJ your lottie is a real credit to you.  :D

The blood, sweat and tears spent on it are worthwhile when you have all that lovely produce to enjoy aren't they.
Bet it all tastes soooo much better than the stuff you buy out of the supermarkets!!

Eileen.

Thanks eveyone!  ;D  Tim, the lettuce are a mixture of mixed Italian and seeds that I got from Seeds of Italy and they were called something like Biondi - the packet is downstairs, I shall try and remember to have a look.  In the mixed ones there are definately the red oak leaf type lettuce but other than that, I can't narrow it down.  They are wonderful though, and we do wrip the leaves off as well as cut whole lettuce, depends how much we want.  ;D

Mmmm lovely. Though mine arent bad either. Been eating our 'cut and come again' letuce for some time. We prefer this to hearting types as we never want a whole one in one go. Usualy enough forour needs any way.

I ought to post a few veggie pics from my garden plottie, just to keep Fingle happy!

Your lottie looks fantastic Emma Jane. Everything looks so healthy and well looked after.  Congratulations!  Everything is very advanced in comparison to mine, living in less gentle climate of the NE.  :) busy_lizzie
